Medical transportation across Southern Maryland
Use this overview to choose a county or town page, then provide the details of your actual journey. Passenger assistance and return timing are part of the route review, even for a short local trip.
AmeriCare Medical Transport & Logistics serves Southern Maryland with non-emergency wheelchair, ambulatory and wait-and-return transportation. Explore Charles, St. Mary’s and Calvert counties, then request a quote for your exact route.
For an emergency call 911
AmeriCare provides non-emergency transportation. If you or the passenger is having a medical emergency, dial 911 immediately. Do not use this website or a quote or ride-request form to request emergency assistance.
Charles County
Waldorf and La Plata pages provide more focused guidance for appointment pickups and discharge coordination. When requesting a route involving another Charles County community, identify both addresses and the entrance the passenger will use.
Plan a trip from Waldorf or La Plata. For White Plains, Indian Head and other county pickups, provide your full address so the team can review coverage and scheduling.
St. Mary’s County
For journeys connecting Leonardtown, Lexington Park and surrounding communities, include the required arrival time and any access instructions. A complete route helps the team discuss pickup and return arrangements.
Explore transportation in Lexington Park and Leonardtown. Requests involving California, Mechanicsville or other communities should include both addresses and any driveway or entrance instructions.
Calvert County
If the appointment is in Prince Frederick but pickup is elsewhere in Calvert County, include both locations. Tell us whether the return is to the original pickup address or a different destination.
Arrange an appointment trip involving Prince Frederick, or ask about a route from Dunkirk, Lusby or Solomons. Include the entire outbound and return route when asking for a quote.
Choose your service
Door-to-door and door-through-door assistance are available. A caregiver or family member can ride along; mention this when booking. All major credit cards and cash are accepted, and insurance or Medicaid is not accepted.
Wheelchair transportation is for passengers traveling seated in a standard wheelchair. Ambulatory transportation is for passengers who walk, including cane or walker users. Wait and return coordinates the outbound trip and return arrangements.
You can request transportation for medical appointments, recurring visits or a wheelchair hospital discharge. Families and facility care teams can contact AmeriCare to discuss the route and assistance needed.
Is my address covered?
The town list is a starting point, not an automatic reservation. Send the pickup and destination addresses, travel date and appointment arrival time. Routes outside the listed areas can be discussed; availability and suitability must be confirmed.
Can I book by phone?
Yes. Call 240-640-1212 to discuss your trip without completing an online form. For an online quote, use the short form and AmeriCare will review your request. Your ride is confirmed only after the fare, timing and pickup arrangements are agreed.
